This here is the latest billboard from the old Torco spot:
Welcome to Baseball Heaven - I could not agree more. And as much as I do appreciate that big banner, I just wish that bit of truth didn't have to be an ad to try and get me to buy something. And I wish it wasn't sponsored by a company partially owned by foreigners.
Don't get me wrong. I enjoy a Miller's Lite as much - if not more - as the next guy. Only good thing is this big ad is on the outside of the park instead of in it.

I liked the ol' Torco sign...very mysterious.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, bro...not that there isn't any mystery about this sign's claim to "Baseball Heaven" (although I personally would hope for something other than a Miller Lite to welcome me there) but with Torco, you always had everybody's head scratching.
Wrigley Visitor: "Hey, Cubs fan, what's this 'Eamus Catuli' all about?"
Me: Ah, that's a Cubs battlecry in Latin, my friend...been there a long time, we all know what it means, all you need to know is don't jump up and down and scream "Eamus Catuli" if we are behind or ahead, it's always implied."
Wrigley Visitor: "Hey, thanks for the tip...so, what about 'Torco,' is that also a special Cubs motto in a cryptic language?"
Me: "Don't even go there, bub...you need another Old Style, I think..."
