About The Blog

In the beginning... God created Baseball.
A few years later: Wrigley Field.

This blog started in 1914 in order to document the construction of Weegham Park. Originally called “The Weegham Blog”, we have had to change the name a few times to keep up with the ballpark. In 1920 Weegham became know as Cubs Park, so we switched to “The Cubs Park Blog”. In 1926 the park became known as Wrigley Field and we reluctantly began “The Wrigley Blog” (Please Mr. Ricketts: enough with all of the name changes.)

Over the last century we have documented a lot of changes in and around this place. Wrigley Field has constantly evolved, but in the end, it remains the one constant around here. To paraphrase a good line from Field of Dreams: The Cubs have been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But Wrigley Field has marked the time. This field, this stadium: it’s part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good and could be again.
