It is sunny and 69 degrees! The lovely ladies cruising by Wrigley have traded in their coats and sweaters for some tight tees!!! Dude, I cannot wait til opening day.
Here are two definite signs that we are only a few days away!
The CUBS Have Returned To Wrigley Field
With only a few days to spare it looks like they will indeed have the backside of the scoreboard ready for opening day.
A Toyota Billboard at Wrigley Field
To quote that White Sox fan Barack Obama -
"This is what change looks like."
I saw in the paper a few weeks back that they plan on installing an advertisement in the left field bleachers. Says here it'll be for some Japanese car company. Well, I'll be.
My grandson Jeremy mocked up this here little model.
I do believe that it is to scale.

Baseball Soon At Wrigley Field
Two sure signs that opening day is on the way -
The sprinklers are running and the barley pops are being unloaded off the barley pop trucks.

Red Stripe
It looks like these gentlemen have just about completed the painting portion of the scoreboard. I do believe that there red stripe is all they've got left before adding some letters.
The Scoreboard Flag Has Returned
I was worried sick that they were going to disgrace the back of the scoreboard with some sort of fancy lights or something, but it looks here like they are just going back to the way she's been for years.
Scoreboard Deja Vu
One reason I've kept this here blog up and going for all of these years is so that I can leave a legacy to my grandson Jeremy - Lord knows his worthless father isn't going to. Well sir, I have found another good reason to type these things down and take e-lectronic photographs. I happened by the scoreboard today and there they were doing the exact same thing they done did a few weeks back. They are taking off metal panels again. Well I'll be. If I didn't have something already written about this very sight I might have thought that I done did start to lose my dang mind.
Spring at Wrigley Field?
Just when I -and my rheumatoid arthritis- thought it was safe to venture out and dare to dream of springtime weather.
The snow is back.
The snow is back.

Spring in Chicago?
Darn Heck, could baseball season be on the way? Just today they took down the ice skating rink and across the street they started putting up their shirts and ballcap tent.
