Paul McCartney's Stage Going Up At Wrigley Field

With 3 days to go before hippies descend on Wrigley Field for the Paul McCartney concert, the crew is working away. As you can see, the framework for a giant stage is being erected in center field.

Paul McCartney to Play Wrigley

There's been no "official" word from anyone but we here at The Wrigley Blog are going to go ahead and officially announce it anyway:

Paul McCartney will be in concert at beautiful Wrigley Field on Sunday Night, July 31st

Sure it's only a rumor, but the city did secured that date for a Wrigley concert today, the same day Sir Paul announced he's playing Yankee Stadium in mid-July. So...

If this thing does happen, it'll make for the sixth concert hosted at the Friendly Confines and I gotta say, they've mixing it up pretty well so far.
Jimmy Buffett (2005) for those margarita drinking Cubs Fans
The Police (2007) for fans of the 1984 Cubs
Elton John and Billy Joel (2009) I guess for the piano loving Cubs Fans?
Rascal Flatts (2009) for the country loving Cubs Fans
Dave Matthews Band (2010) for Sammy Sosa jersey wearing Cubs fans.

I figure Paul McCartney's gonna be a big hit with the 1969 Cubs Fans. . . those fans never get any attention, lol!

I see here in the paper that they are going to have another one of them rock concerts at Wrigley Field this September. I haven't cared for the idea but I guess the kids like it. The noise from these things - I tell ya, it is enough to keep me awake blocks away. And I can't even imagine being in The Stadium. How anyone walks away with ears that work is beyond me.

Never even heard of this Dave Matthew's Band, but they will be there September 17th and 18th.
